WEEK 2 - 6: Planning, Team Coordination, and Strengthening Our Collaboration📑🗓️
General Briefing About the Activities
From Week 2 until Week 6, our class focused on planning and coordinating the community engagement activities for the semester. During this period, we held several online meetings involving the students of Usrah in Action II and representatives from Maahad Riyadus Salihin (MRS), West Java, Indonesia. These meetings served as an opportunity to introduce our plans, discuss the objectives of the collaboration, and receive updates from each team regarding their respective responsibilities.
As the weeks progressed, every team presented updates on their assigned tasks, exchanged ideas, and worked together to ensure that all preparations were moving in the right direction. These discussions allowed us to understand how each team contributed to the overall success of the project while maintaining good communication and cooperation among all members.
One of the meetings was held shortly after the Hari Raya celebration, where we combined our discussion with a simple Hari Raya gathering. Besides continuing our planning, the session also strengthened the friendship and sense of unity among classmates after the festive break. The informal atmosphere encouraged everyone to communicate more openly while remaining focused on the progress of our preparations.
Throughout these weeks, continuous discussions and regular updates helped us establish a clearer direction for the upcoming programmes. Every meeting became an important platform for sharing ideas, solving challenges, and ensuring that everyone understood their roles and responsibilities before moving to the implementation stage.
My Personal Reflection
These weeks taught me that successful community engagement begins long before the actual programme takes place. Careful planning, effective communication, and strong teamwork are essential foundations for achieving meaningful outcomes. As the leader of Team 8, I realized the importance of coordinating with not only my own teammates but also members from the other teams, since every task was interconnected and required everyone's commitment.
The discussions with MRS representatives and my classmates also broadened my perspective on organizing community-based activities. By listening to different opinions and exchanging ideas, I learned that every suggestion has value and can contribute to better decision-making. This experience helped me become more patient, open-minded, and confident when leading discussions and working with people from different backgrounds.
In addition, these meetings provided an opportunity for me to explore new ideas and approaches for our upcoming activities. Rather than rushing into implementation, we were encouraged to think carefully about how our plans could best benefit the students and community of Maahad Riyadus Salihin. This process strengthened my understanding that impactful programmes are built upon thorough preparation, collaboration, and sincere intentions.
Overall, Weeks 2 to 6 reminded me that every successful programme begins with effective planning and teamwork. Although much of our work during this period happened behind the scenes, these experiences became an important foundation for everything that followed throughout the semester.
