WEEK 7–8: Planning and Preparation for the One-Hour Motivational Talk๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿป‍๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ“Œ

General Briefing About the Activities

During Weeks 7 and 8, our class shifted its focus to preparing for our main community engagement project, the One-Hour Motivational Talk, which would be conducted online via Google Meet for the students of Maahad Riyadus Salihin (MRS), West Java, Indonesia.

Throughout these two weeks, we held several meetings to discuss the overall flow of the programme, finalize the tentative schedule, and divide responsibilities among all eight teams. Each team was assigned specific tasks according to their respective roles, while regular progress updates ensured that everyone remained aligned with the programme timeline.

As the leader of Team 8: Welfare, Motivation, and Student Development, I worked closely with my teammates and the other committees to coordinate our responsibilities and ensure that preparations progressed smoothly. We also maintained regular communication with the representatives from Maahad Riyadus Salihin, especially Dr. Rakhmad, who provided valuable guidance, feedback, and updates regarding the students and the arrangements on the MRS side.

During the preparation stage, we carefully reviewed every detail of the programme, including the programme flow, promotional materials, technical arrangements, and communication with all parties involved. We also made several improvements based on the feedback received, including correcting the programme poster to ensure that the programme time was accurately displayed for both Malaysia and Indonesia, allowing participants from both countries to join without confusion.

These meetings played an essential role in ensuring that every committee understood their responsibilities and that all preparations were completed before the implementation of the programme.

My Personal Reflection

These two weeks were one of the busiest periods of the semester, but they also provided me with valuable experiences as a team leader. I realized that organizing a successful programme requires much more than having good ideas. It demands careful planning, continuous communication, proper coordination, and attention to even the smallest details.

Working together with my teammates, the other committees, and the representatives from Maahad Riyadus Salihin taught me the importance of collaboration and shared responsibility. Whenever challenges arose, we discussed them openly and worked together to find practical solutions. This strengthened my confidence in leading discussions while also reminding me that good leadership begins with listening to others and appreciating every contribution.

I also learned that flexibility is an important quality in project management. Throughout the preparation process, several adjustments had to be made based on new information and feedback. Instead of viewing these changes as obstacles, I learned to see them as opportunities to improve the quality of our programme and ensure that it would meet the needs of the participants.

Overall, Weeks 7 and 8 were a meaningful preparation phase that strengthened my leadership, communication, and organizational skills. They also reminded me that behind every successful programme lies a dedicated team that works together with sincerity, patience, and a shared commitment to serving the community.
