WEEK 9: Implementation of the One-Hour Online Motivational Talk📚
General Briefing About the Programme
Week 9 marked the most significant milestone of our Usrah in Action II journey as we successfully organized the One-Hour Online Motivational Talk entitled "Jihad Ilmu: Jalan Panjang Menuju Redha Allah" in collaboration with Maahad Riyadus Salihin (MRS), West Java, Indonesia. The programme was conducted via Google Meet and brought together students, teachers, committee members, and participants from both Malaysia and Indonesia.
The main objective of the programme was to inspire the students of MRS to remain steadfast in their pursuit of knowledge while reminding them that seeking knowledge is a lifelong act of worship. After weeks of planning, meetings, and preparation, every committee carried out their respective responsibilities to ensure the programme ran smoothly from beginning to end.
As the leader of Team 8: Welfare, Motivation, and Student Development, I was responsible for coordinating the overall implementation of the programme together with my teammates and the other committees. Throughout the session, everyone worked professionally and cooperatively, from managing the programme flow and technical arrangements to communicating with the invited speaker and participants. Alhamdulillah, the programme was successfully conducted according to plan, and the participants responded positively throughout the session.
One of the highlights of the programme was the motivational session delivered by our distinguished speaker, Ustaz Omar, whose engaging and inspiring presentation truly captivated the audience. Through his delightful delivery, he emphasized that the pursuit of knowledge requires sincerity (ikhlas), perseverance, discipline, and continuous effort in seeking the pleasure of Allah. His inspiring words encouraged the participants to remain committed to their educational journey while developing strong Islamic values and good character. We were truly honoured by his presence, and his meaningful sharing greatly contributed to the success and impact of the programme.
Overall, the programme not only achieved its objectives but also strengthened the relationship between IIUM students and the MRS community. It demonstrated that meaningful educational collaboration and knowledge sharing can be carried out effectively despite geographical distance through the effective use of online platforms.
My Personal Reflection
Week 9 was one of the most memorable moments of this semester because it was the day when all our planning and preparation finally came to life. As the leader of Team 8, I felt a great sense of responsibility to ensure that every part of the programme was well coordinated. Although I was naturally nervous before the programme began, those feelings gradually disappeared as I saw every committee working together with dedication and professionalism.
This experience taught me that successful leadership is not about doing everything alone. Instead, it is about building trust, communicating effectively, and creating an environment where every team member can contribute their strengths. I am truly grateful to my teammates and all the other committees for their commitment and willingness to support one another throughout the preparation and implementation of the programme.
The programme also reminded me that community service is not limited by geographical distance. Even though we interacted virtually with the students of Maahad Riyadus Salihin, we were still able to share knowledge, encouragement, and positive values in a meaningful way. Seeing the participants actively engage throughout the session gave me confidence that our efforts had achieved their intended purpose.
Looking back, this programme was more than just a course requirement. It was a valuable opportunity to develop my leadership, communication, and organizational skills while learning the importance of patience, teamwork, and sincere service. It also strengthened my belief that when people work together with a shared purpose and sincere intentions, meaningful impact can be created regardless of the challenges faced.
Overall, Week 9 became one of the most rewarding experiences in my Usrah in Action II journey. It was a reminder that behind every successful programme lies careful preparation, strong teamwork, and the willingness of everyone to contribute for the benefit of others.
